10 CPC Drivers Selected as NPTC Driver All-Stars

24 private fleet truck drivers who have demonstrated high performance standards against their peer drivers throughout the country based on customer service, safety, adherence to company standards, regulatory compliance, and community service have been honored by the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) as National Driver All-Stars. The awards were presented at a ceremony that took place in conjunction with NPTC’s National Safety Conference, September 13-14.

“These drivers embody all the characteristics, skills and attitudes that are the heart of what enables the private fleet to continue to deliver exceptional levels of customer service,” according to NPTC President and CEO Gary Petty. “They are ambassadors, not only for their company, but for the entire private fleet community. We are honored to recognize these private fleet drivers for meeting high performance standards in the fields of customer service, safety and compliance.”

NPTC initiated the National Driver All-Stars program in 2009 to recognize those drivers of NPTC fleet member companies based on how they perform against their own internal customer service metrics. Specific measures of the recognition include:

  • Safety (number of DOT reportable accidents; number of OSHA reportable injuries; number of traffic violations verified by current MVR)
  • Compliance with company standards (attendance, attendance at safety meetings, training, paperwork, etc.)
  • Regulatory compliance (hours of service, DVIR, MVR, etc.)

BATO Driver Of The Year

During the week of April 2nd, 2012, seven drivers were brought to Nashville, TN to represent their Bridgestone distribution center as Driver of the Year.  These drivers were chosen from the over 400 drivers that CPC supplies for Bridgestone.   Each driver was selected based on their exemplary safety, customer service and driving abilities.  They were nominated by the Transportation Department at each DC based on these abilities and accolades from the customers they deliver to on a daily basis.  The drivers spent 4 days in Nashville, Bridgestone Headquarters, during which time they toured the Legendary Jack Daniels plant, lunch at Ms. Mary BoBo’s, the very place Jack Daniels himself would eat, which is owned and operated by his great-grand niece, a flight to Dublin, VA, to the Volvo truck factory where they saw Volvo trucks being made, a night in the Bridgestone suite at the Bridgestone Arena to watch the Nashville Predators hockey team play, then finished the week off with a tour of the Bridgestone Tire plant in Morrison, TN and ended with a dinner and awards ceremony.  Each driver was extremely grateful to Bridgestone for everything that was done for them and each had a fantastic time.

Patience Is Key

Chris Trice is an exceptionally good truck driver. But he is also an uncommonly good person.

Delivering tires and automotive parts with exemplary levels of service and safety for Bridgestone Americas Tire Opera- tions for the past several years as a contract driver with CPC Logistics,Trice was chosen as an NPTC National Driver All-Star last year. While he obviously brings many top-notch professional skills to a difficult job, his personal qualities are the true keys of his success. Continue reading
